Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I'm Dannii C, and I created this blog to try and gain interest for the amazing charity postpals.co.uk, where you can send emails, letters, cards and gifts to seriously ill children throughout the UK. Each month I will feature two different children from the website on my blog, post any updates for the kids on the site, do a monthly update, post any news generally from the site, post info about the charity itself and a little bit about every kid on the site, and basically do all I can to get more people to know about this amazing charity!

September's Featured Pals: Connor C

Each month I feature two Pals on the website who I think could really use some post right now. The first Pal is Connor C (4, Neuroblastoma).

Connor was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma (An advanced form of the disease and the state in which it is most commonly discovered) in November 2008, when he was only 2 years old.

He had 7 weeks of chemo, an operation to remove the tumour, another 8 weeks of high-dose chemo, 3 weeks of radiotherapy, and finally 6 months on tablets called retinoic acid.

After 16 gruelling months, Connor was in remission. Sadly, in June 2010, it was discovered that he had relapsed, and the cancer is now terminal.

As his mom says, "The little fighter he is has now started more chemotherapy to try to slow things down. He's not letting anything stop him and is living life to the full and is still the cheeky little boy he always was and will be."

Sad News: Ashley H

I am very sad to report that Ashley H, (7, Neuroblastoma) lost his 2-year battle with Neuroblastoma on the 8th of September at 2:10 a.m.

The Post Pals team said: "He was a very brave Jedi who took on cancer the same way he took on Darth Vader."

Here is a picture of Ashley at the Post Pals party 2 months ago, with Joe B whose big brother, Jack Bradley, also died of cancer.

Now Ashley's pain has eased and he is flying with the other angels from Post Pals who lost their lives battling with cancer and other diseases.

R.I.P Ashley x
